Glass Digital’s Jen MacDonald returns for second guest lecture at Northumbria University
We’re pleased to share the news that one of our own will be hosting a lecture at Northumbria University.
Jen MacDonald, Head of Marketing, will be talking to Media and Communications students to give an insight into life at a digital marketing agency, including what roles are available, industry tips and tricks, and advice for working with multiple clients in an agency setting. Afterwards, she’ll be answering questions and leading discussions about life as a digital marketer.
This is the second time Jennifer has been invited to speak to students at the university, having delivered a similar lecture back in 2021. In fact, the team here at Glass Digital regularly speak at universities and colleges in the North East, as well as conferences and industry events. Jen also gave two successful talks at BrightonSEO last year, sharing useful advice for her peers on newsjacking and awareness days.
Jen says: “The North East is home to a flourishing tech sector and exciting digital landscape, which Glass is proud to be part of. Northumbria Uni, which I am an alumnus of myself, is just one of many exceptional universities we’re lucky to have in the local area. It’s very important to us all at Glass Digital that we support the education of new digital marketeers and share our industry knowledge.
“Digital marketing is a fantastic industry to get involved in, especially here in the North, and it can provide careers to people with a wide range of skill sets. I love having the chance to meet and inspire the next generation of digital marketers — and it’s exciting to think we may just have a future Glass colleague in attendance!”
Massimo Ragnedda, Senior Lecturer of Mass Communication at Northumbria University, says: “On top of their academic studies and theory, it’s important to us that our students learn as much as they can about life after university too. Lectures like these help our students get real-life perspectives and exclusive insights from people who work in the industries they will soon be joining, so they really are invaluable.
“It’s never too early to start thinking practically about how you can apply the skills you have learnt during your time at university, and by talking to digital marketing experts, you often pick up a few tips and tricks that help you stand out in the job market too. I look forward to hearing more of Jennifer’s wisdom!”
The lecture will take place at Northumbria University at 9am on March 7th to students enrolled on the Media and Communications course.
